Aggregate & Quarry

Crusher Wear Parts and Conveyor Components for Aggregate and Quarry Operations

Aggregate production and quarrying involve continuous crushing and conveying of hard rock, limestone, granite, basalt, and similar materials. Wear parts — jaw plates, crusher hammers, impact plates, cone liners — are consumable components that determine both the cost per tonne of production and the consistency of product grading. A jaw plate that wears unevenly creates a non-parallel crushing chamber and produces an inconsistent product; a hammer that fractures prematurely rather than wearing progressively creates an unplanned shutdown.

Aggregate producers and quarry operators are typically cost-sensitive buyers who know exactly what service life they are getting from their current wear parts supplier, and will change suppliers when a better combination of price and service life is available. We supply crusher wear parts to this market as OEM-compatible replacements and, where clients have specific material or geometry requirements, as custom specifications.

Jaw Crusher Wear Parts

Jaw plates for aggregate and quarry applications are produced in manganese steel grades selected for the specific rock type and crusher model. For hard, abrasive rock (granite, basalt, quartzite), alloyed manganese grades (Mn14Cr2, Mn18Cr2) typically outperform standard Mn13 by providing better work-hardening response at the higher impact energies involved. For softer limestone and similar materials, standard Mn13 or Mn14 provides adequate service life at lower cost.

We supply jaw plates compatible with the major crusher models in common use in the aggregate industry — Metso/Nordberg, Sandvik, Terex/Pegson, Extec, and others — as well as jaw plates to client drawings for non-standard or proprietary crusher configurations. Profile options include standard corrugated, fine corrugated, and tooth profiles to match the original equipment specification or to address a specific wear pattern the client has observed.

Impact Crusher Wear Parts

Hammer mills and horizontal shaft impact (HSI) crushers are widely used in limestone and soft rock aggregate operations where product shape is important. Crusher hammers and impact plates in these machines are subject to high-energy impact from the feed material and must absorb this energy without fracturing while maintaining acceptable abrasion resistance. The material selection balance between toughness and hardness is more critical in impact crushers than in jaw crushers, and the correct choice depends on the feed material, the rotor tip speed, and the required product specification.

We supply crusher hammers and impact plates in manganese steel, chromium-molybdenum alloy steel, and high-chromium iron, with material selection support available for clients who are experiencing premature fracture or excessive wear with their current specification.

Secondary and Tertiary Crusher Wear Parts

Cone crushers in secondary and tertiary positions process material that has already been reduced in size and has lower specific impact energy per particle than primary crusher feed. Standard austenitic manganese steel often underperforms in these applications because the impact energy is insufficient to develop adequate work-hardening. Alloy steel or heat-treated grades that provide hardness without relying on work-hardening typically deliver better service life in secondary and tertiary cone crushing of hard rock aggregates.

Conveyor Components

Belt conveyor systems in quarry and aggregate operations transport crushed material from the crusher to screening, stockpiling, and loadout. Rollers, idlers, pulleys, and transfer chute components are subject to abrasion from the transported material and require periodic replacement. We supply belt conveyor wear parts and structural components for aggregate conveyor systems, sized and specified to the conveyor geometry and material characteristics of the specific installation.
